Sweetheart arrived with her brother in the 1960s and lived well into the 2000s. I am glad that I got to see her, even if her exhibit was no eye candy. However her keepers must be credited as they did everything they could to enrich her life, judging by the many odd items and toys in the exhibit.

Do you know if sweet heart and Bruno were the only two polar bears at the la zoo . I know when it opened there was a still a polar bear from the previous zoo . These two cubs arrived when the new zoo first opened . Any word on the other bear ?
