The excellent central area of the zoo includes a collection of immersive exhibit complexes themed to tropical Asia and Africa, as well as a major dining facility and a few other exhibits.
The bird of prey aviaries in this section of the zoo are perhaps the largest in all of North America. One impressive aspect of the San Diego Zoo is that many of the aviaries are amongst the best of their kind, including these massive ones for raptors.
