If I am not mistaken (which I may be), this viewing area used to have a pool just like the other viewing area. It has been filled in with dirt, which is visible in the lower left portion. Of course when it was new the main exhibit was also covered in grass, which is mostly gone now.

This exhibit may have once been great, but it seems to have been worn it. It is definitely adequate, but there are many tiger exhibits that are better. The new exhibit at the safari park being one of them.
This exhibit has always been so-so with the fence in the background, but right now it is more obvious with the hard pruning of the plants just behind the fence.
