I've seen those wild and wacky creatures - generally sitting in a rocking chair on the verandah of their shack deep in the bayou. And when they look at you, it's scarier than the thing in that picture above.
It is a imaginative representation of a loup garou - a cajun werewolf - a creature that was also popularized by the great Mac Rebennack aka Dr. John in his song "Loup Garou" which is on his "Greatest hits" album.
