Yes the aviary has a nice size but last weekend I saw how it can be done even better - at Apenheul. Here Macaws have been trained to return to their aviary to eat and sleep and during day-time they are flying freely through the park and its surroundings ! After leaving the park we ( my wife and I ) saw a pair of Green-winged macaws flying overhead about a kilometer from the park away.
