The giraffe exhibit in the Africambo section of Magdeburg Zoo. In here lives a group of rothschild?s giraffes (Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi). From 2010 the giraffe exhibit has been connected to the new Africambo savannah, allowing grevy?s zebras (Equus grevyi) and gemsboks (Oryx gazella) to also use this part of the exhibit.
The Africambo I area is the first phase of the new African savannah area opened in 2010. The whole area is 20.000 m2 and features many African savannah animals. The second part, Africambo II, will feature a new elephant exhibit.
The Giraffe House opened in 1991 and was built in 110 hours as part of a reality show. Probably a record in Giraffe House building speed.
