@DavidBrown The sculpture is called Egg - Unity of Diversity and it was placed at the zoo's entrance towards the end of 2013. Visitors can walk through the huge egg and look up to see images of various animals and the timing of the unveiling was significant as the zoo had just reopened after terrible flooding had closed the establishment.
Looking at my photo above, the concrete structure with a series of admission booths is located directly on one side of a busy highway. Visitors go through a long tunnel to reach the actual entrance to the Calgary Zoo.
