Phanoen Thung, Kaeng Krachan NP. 05-11-2023. One of the target species of Kaeng Krachan. Our second carnivore species of the trip, after the jackal, and our first time seeing a bear species in the wild. Really happy with this one! We did not see it on our second visit to this location.
That's awesome. I love Kaeng Krachan. No Sun Bears have shown for me though...
 
Assuming this is in that area behind the little restaurant where the drain runs out to on the upper campsite (?), this individual became increasingly reliable there. I visited in December about 6 weeks after your date and was told it could be seen absolutely reliably at a specific time when food was washed out the drain. On my first day, of course, it didn't appear at all despite being 'guaranteed'. However on my second day appeared very obligingly!
