A very nice photo - always been given to understand that Colchester held the Amur taxon, but this animal does not look quite right, as the colouration is much more vivid and the spotting more obvious than is usual for said taxon.

Yes, I think this was in a small row of similar old brick- backed cages (?), I have another with a speckled pigeon and silver pheasant in it and I think this was nearby.
