Planckendael kept Plum-headed parakeets in the aviary in the Asian greenhouse until 2013. At that time the aviaries were removed and most of the Asian greenhouse became a planted bird walk-through only area. The Asian greenhouse closed in early 2020, just before the Covid-19 crisis.
