This desert building was based on a Sonoran Desert habitat when I visited North Carolina Zoo in 2010, but I see that the name has been changed to "Mangum Desert". Is Mangum a local company or a private benefactor of the zoo?
It still houses the same type of animals, but the name was recently changed for a local doctor (last name Mangum) who left 3 million dollars to the zoo in his will. The doctor was apparently a lover of the Sonoran Desert exhibit.
