There are actually some raccoons living wild in the UK now, and it was rumoured there used to be (maybe still is) a small group of coatis living up in the Lake District....no prizes for guessing where the latter supposedly came from!

Not only are they still there - breeding and expanding their range, to boot - but I have seen one of the animals in question myself, not far from Ambleside.
