Here's one thing I don't get about listed buildings in Jolly Old England - if buildings like the Mappins, Casson Pavilion, Penguin Pool, etc. are in varying stages of decay and disrepair, and they are posing more and more of a safety risk to keepers, visitors and animals alike, is it possible to pull a Ship of Theseus, demolishing and rebuilding them as per the exact blueprints?
@StoppableSan This is very good question. I imagine the cost and priorities are serious limiting factors. It's sad, that they are not in use anymore, tho. Hamburg still uses the African panoram, btw
I really wish they had the money to do something with this, I think it has a certain beauty, especially on a sunny day! An issue I have with these laws is that they were designed to protect castles, cathedrals & stately homes built from solid stone that have stood for hundreds of years. It's a whole different situation when it's basically concrete poured over some scaffolding in the middle of a zoo!
