This will be home to the zoo's current southeast African white lions Future, Sushine, Prosperity, and Gracious. This is part of phase III of Africa. Across from them will be the new home to cheetahs along with a new African Base Camp Cafe that overlooks it all. Phase IV will bring in hoofstock for the African Plains and African Wild Dogs. Phase V will bring in the grande daddy of them all, Nile crocodiles and hippopotamuses.

If they are currently working on phase 3, does that mean phase 1 and 2 are already done? And if so, what were they? Also do you have a timeline for everything? I tried to click on the link, but the Cincinnati Zoo website seems to be offline at the moment.

2008: Phase 1: Giraffe Ridge
2010: Phase 2: Extended giraffe exhibit, renovated cheetah encounter, new flamingo exhibit
2013: Phase 3: White lions and cheetahs and African Base Camp Cafe
2014: Phase 4: African Plains: Gazelles, zebras, Marabou storks, ostriches, etc plus African wild dogs
2015: Phase 5: Nile hippopotamuses and Nile crocodiles

No there are no open plans for the white lion exhibit.

I have always liked Cincinnati Zoo (more than most on this forum) and these projects will make it a true destination.
