i have not heard anything about it, i would suspect they would. Its been awhile since theyve bred one, like 10 years ago or more, it forget, and it ended up dying of herpes.
It's nice to see all of the girls together in one shot. Usually one of them decides to be stubborn and walks away
The zoo has been trying to breed Jati with Sabu since he returned to the zoo, but they have had no results. Jati gave birth to a male calf, Ganesh, in 1998. In the early 2000s Ganesh was transfered to the Columbus Zoo, but he later died in 2005.

Several zoos do use AI with their elephants, but I do not know if the Cincinnati Zoo has ever tried AI with Jati. If they have, the zoo never announced that they were doing so. For all I knoe they have only tried natural breeding. I have seen Jati and Sabu together in Sabu's yard on a number of occasions for breeding, but it seems that nothing has come of it yet. Actually, I haven't seen Jati in Sabu's yard here recently.
