Marieland was built in 1972 by Pleasurama Leisure Group who had at more or less the same time built the London Dolphinarium in Oxford Street thus reflecting design consideration at the time.
It is now owned by Aspro who own a number of zoological park, aquarium and leisure parks around Europe; including some aquariums in the UK.
There are currently 4 dolphins at the park all captive bred in the companies other dolphinaria; their breeding programmes have been very successful. The pool is much as you saw it which is a disappointment as one would have hope that it would have been extended and improved.
