What animal is that? It is bizarre looking - I do not recall seeing anything like that when I was there.
 
This is a markhor (Capra falconeri heptneri) - reasonably common in mainland European zoos, but, sadly, those at the HWP are the only ones in the UK.

Thanks - the shaggy coat was throwing me off. The only markhors I distinctly remember (I may have seen others) are the turkomen markhors at Los Angeles Zoo, which do not have any significant amount of fur.

California does tend to be warmer than Inverness-shire!

These are the same subspecies so this is just the effect of local climate I think - Scotland is not renowned for high temperatures. :D
