Masai Giraffes and African Elephants, African Mammal Hall

African savanna diorama with African savanna elephant herd, Masai giraffe herd, and cape buffalo herd

Has anybody ever seen another African diorama exhibit in a natural history museum that has both giraffes and elephants? I believe that the African mammal hall at the American Museum of Natural History in New York has a herd of elephants, but not giraffes.

Does anyone else think that the elephant on the right, with its rounded ears and downward pointing tusks, looks quite reminiscent of cyclotis?

It does look somewhat cyclotish now that you mention it, but I think that this whole group was collected from Kenya. The intergradation of traits between forest and savanna elephants is one of the reasons that there has been constant bickering about their species/subspecies status.
