@MonkeyBat I'll rephrase and expand on what I commented the other day to user: snowleopard. The zoo starts you off in 'modern times' and begins with a great outdoor penguin complex, then immerses you in a windy indoor Amazon rainforest with close encounters with howlers, a tapir, caiman, a jaguar, and more. It will make you want to stay in here the entire day.
A little further down is an equally beautiful wolf pen but... then... the zoo takes you back to what looks like a mix of the 1930's and 80's nearly the rest of the way - ranging from average to below average exclosures. A lot of it felt cheap and the quality was inconsistent. Of the 59 wildlife institutions I've been to, I would put it around 47th on my recommendations list and I hope the zoo can make changes soon that are on par with Amazonia.
