Meerkat Enclosure 15-8-14

The obligatory meerkat enclosure. Adequate size,but hardly luxurious or huge.

Was there a small indoor section for the meerkats to escape to? I don't want to imagine how this exhibit would look after a rainfall.

Yes,there is an "off view" sleeping area to the left hand side. Its where the logs and stones are against the wall. The windows on the left of the photo are the outside of the Tropical house,and the Meerkat house is accomdated inside that. Probably helps to keep them cosy warm in the evenings and winter time.
The floor of the exhibit is very sandy,so will drain very easily from the occasional rainfall we get here in England
