Meerkat Exhibit at Yorkshire Wildlife Park

An exhibit for meerkats at Yorkshire Wildlife Park on October 5, 2014. This one wasn't occupied or connected to the meerkat/mongoose house like the others, so calling it a meerkat exhibit was a bit of a guess on my part.

Edit: I've just noticed the tunnel things in the photo. So the meerkats are free to "tunnel" from one exhibit to the other? Genius!

I'm a huge fan of this enclosure! It's large, offers digging opportunities for the animals and great all-around-lookout-posts. Plus it's nice to look at. And having connectable enclosures via tunnels is a genius idea, they can separate members if they need to (which they no doubt will have to do at some points, knowing the meerkat's horrible "mob" life). All in all, a fantastic exhibit!
