Does anyone know the exact size of the elephant exhibit? In American zoos the trend has been for an establishment to either send its elephants away or showcase them in an enclosure that is a minimum of 2 acres in size. There are a growing number of zoos that have been building habitats that are at least 3-4 acres in size, and yet both Melbourne and Taronga have had a lot of breeding success with elephant herds in what are probably regarded as small enclosures these days.
