Apparently the pig-nosed turtle (Carettochelys insculpta) that used to live in the aquarium also lives in the pond. This turtle like the Malaysian painted river turtles (Batagur borneoensis) tend to hide underneath the stone bridge.

Good to hear that you saw them! I have been in the Metzelaarskas for a few hours but have never seen them. I forgot to mention that the Asian water dragons have been removed from the greenhouse.

The conditions weren't optimal for this species according to the zookeeper I spoke to. Most likely it has something to do with humidty or temperature. If I remember correctly the Asian water dragons were removed from the forest house for a similiar reason.
