On zootierliste ateles geoffreyi is listed as the mexican spider monkey. This species is very common in mexican zoos, but only 2 zoos in europe have them according to zootierliste. Now to be more exact this is ateles geoffreyi yucatensis, which according to tierliste is only found in 1 european animal collection.
This is the yucatan subspecies. Very few mexican zoos give the subspecies of their spider monkeys, which are always listed as ateles geoffreyi. I will change the picture title since this may be one of the few pictures of this subspecies on zoochat.
