Miami Metrozoo

The Asian Elephant habitat, which is 1/3 the size of the Africans as I was told by the keeper.
I personally like the African elephant exhibit better than the Asian. It is more grassy, its larger, there are more trees, more rocks for hiding enrichment.

It is very nice but the African one is way better. The Asian Paddock is actually two separate habitats although it all looks blended into one. The large rock tree planter in the back of the photo is actually in the back paddock.

This is interesting. I have seen several recent pictures of the Asian male with the female. Were the two Asian yards designed for when they had more of the species? Do the two they have now granted access to both?
