So this is likely the most confusing thing I've ever encountered at a zoo. The website barely mentions Reserve Sauvage at all, to the point that I had forgotten about it. When you pull off the main road to go to the zoo, you reach an intersection with a big parking lot on your right, and a long gravel road on your left. At the far end of the parking lot you can see the big fake tree in the next photo. THIS IS RESERVE SAUVAGE. Do not start here! You have to go to the main zoo, down that long gravel road, to pay first (you get an armband). Be aware that the Reserve is 5+km more of walking. If I had known, I would not have combined it with the aquarium (or not been so leisurely at the aquarium). We had no time to fit the Reserve in and there were species I really wanted to see.
