some may find this interesting: the mistletoebird's specific name hirundinaceum means "like a swallow" because it has the same basic colour pattern as a swallow (dark back, white underparts, red throat).

That is interesting.
I suppose a preserved skin that's lost its shape may look like a swallow, but it doesn't actually look like a swallow in real life :p it was actually smaller than I thought it would be before I saw my first one.
