Of all the animals at Mole Hall (most of which were in adequate if basic accommodation) the chimpanzees had by far the worst enclosure. The chimps were a problem for Mole Hall. On the one hand, the poor state of the enclosure, and the lack of enrichment for the apes, was a major source of criticism and undoubtedly put many people off re-visiting, but on the other hand, with other people, the chimps were the most popular animals in the Park and a big draw.
