According to Wikipedia the zoo opened in 1875, making this year the 140th anniversary. When was this Monkey House built?

According to the zoo´s website, most of the zoo´s buildings were built from 1895 to 1905. This monkey house was only adequate for the marmosets, in my opinion.

Now that the 140 year-old zoo is closing, it will be interesting to see if any of the historic buildings are saved from demolition.

The buildings are a national heritage site and by law cannot be torn down. Though in argentine politics anything is possible and the definite clousure of the zoo may still not
happen. However it breaks my heart to know that these are the last pictures to be posted of the buenos aires zoo as i saw it only last year. I was actually at the zoo on election day. I did not imagine that the political changes occuring that day would even affect the Buenos Aires zoo, the oldest zoo in Latin America.
Maybe in the future when people remember the zoo as it was, these words of Carlos Gardel from
famous tango, Adios muchachos, will come to mind,
Accuden a mi mente, recuerdos de otros tiempos,
de los bellos momentos que antaño disfrute.
I cannot translate that because it makes me too sad.

Now that Buenos Aires zoo has officialy reopened it will be interesting what is done with this building, which is fine as zoo history but not an adequate place for most primates by current standards.
