The zoo announced a year or so ago that there would be changes done to the monorail journey, but does anyone know what that entails? A new track, new animals, new exhibits, new design, etc? San Diego Zoo Safari Park phased out its monorail several years ago, Minnesota Zoo is dismantling its monorail, and there have been rumors about the Wild Asia monorail being either discarded or revamped at the Bronx Zoo...so does that leave just Zoo Miami and Dallas as the only two other major American zoos with monorails? Toronto Zoo used to have a monorail-type system but that was dismantled in the 1990's, and monorails are certainly an endangered species in modern zoos.
