At Po?s we saw both Red-tailed and Montane/Po?s Squirrels - the two are surprisingly awkward to tell apart! The only reliable way is to get an exact side view to see if the ears stick up or not! In profile silhouette, this species shows no ear flaps, while Red-tailed Squirrels, whose ears are higher, do.
I don't like this hot as much as the other - I had to use flash and the blurred-out leaf makes the squirrel look redder than it should, but it demonstrates the lack of sticky-up ears! :D
