Multi-Acre Texas Longhorn/White-Tailed Deer/Bison/Sandhill Crane Exhibit

Aug. 12th, 2010.
That looks like a great exhibit. I could live without the longhorn cattle (I really do not like when zoos exhibit domestic animals), but otherwise appears to be very nice.

Now you can say that you've seen the exhibit with your own eyes after your trip through Texas last week. Did this huge enclosure live up to your expectations?

Yes. Ironically, not far from this exhibit (in the brush behind the alligator pond) I saw a wild deer mother with fawn.

How do you feel about the llama/capybara exhibit at your own Reid Park Zoo?

Yes, my dislike of domestic animal exhibits applies to our llama as well.

See, I like to see some well-chosen domestics in a zoo (preferably rare or local breeds), but I share your pain with wild/domestic mixes, which I'd always rather were avoided.
