A pregnant Muntjac deer in the rain at RSPB Lakenheath Fen. The reserve has a photo hide in front of some bird feeders and this deer wandered up behind the space and completely missed spotting me sitting upwind under the netting.
@bongorob they are common around here too, though not so much in the city! No natural predators and a year round breeding cycle do make them populous and they are of course ‘non native’ but I have to say I always enjoy seeing them along with our other assortment of deer.
Lafone, to clarify my post the city centre (the town of Hanley) has a country park on the site of an old coal mine. This is where the muntjac are sometimes seen, although I have never seen one there myself.
Roe Deer are pretty common a few miles from where I live. I've never seen any. Then again I never go looking for them.
