This is the route that I made to take on my Chester Zoo trip the past couple of years. Since it is the route that Komodo and I took, I like to call it "The Dragon Route".
This is the route that Komodo and I took on our trip last week. It is a colour-coded route so it doesn't get confusing when the lines cross. There is a colour-key in the top right corner in case there is any confusion.
This is clearly a well thought-out route, and perhaps the best solution I've seen so far to the problem of getting around the full collection in a day.
The next challenge is to factor into consideration the times of day at which different species are most active, as at Chester you rarely, if ever, have the luxury of having time left over to go and have a second look for the things you've missed. This may, however, be an impossible task.
@HGibbins Last year I went round the zoo using this route and I still had an hour left to kill so I revisited Islands, Fruit Bat Forest, Miniature Monkeys and Elephants of the Asian Forest.
@Water Dragon Indeed, besides my obvious favourites the Komodo dragons,I'm glad this route was planned as it allowed me to view species I had either rarely or never seen before.Plus you got to see the pudu.
