Giant Eland

nabarlek (Petrogale concinna)

I would have loved to see this species - together with the Golden Bandicoot - in TWP, but wasn't around at the time I visited the park. On the other hand, I shouldn't complain with Common Planigale and Fawn Antechinus on my species list from TWP.

Ohh yes I'm very jealous of those two, probably saw a few bats and possibly rodents I didn't see as well. I saw your Fawn Antechinus photo, but did you have more photos of rarities from TWP?

I've tried to make some photos in the nocturnal house, but the quality of these are poor. Other than the Antechinus only that of a Bush Stone-Curlew is a bit acceptable. I've a couple of Black Wallaroo photos, although a bit from a distance. My best photo of a rarity is probably that of a Pacific Baza (it's in the gallery as well). I saw my only captive Osprey here as well.

About bats and rodents, Blossom Bat and Carpentarian Rock-rat were probably the biggest rarities when I visited TWP (next to the Northern Hopping Mouse I mentioned elsewhere).
