Have you seen one in the wild? Do they live in sydney? Your right that it isn't the most sweetest looking animals. I kinda find those weird looking animals cute and endearing.

Yes I have, many years ago in the tall forests around Healesville when I was spotlighting, and a few years before that around Brisbane. I didn't see either of them gliding though. They may have once been found in Sydney but I'm pretty sure they're long gone, although there should still be some outside of Sydney in the many National Parks we have.
And you may have misunderstood me - i think all the gliders are gorgeous (particularly Acrobates) - but the stuffed replica in the photo doesn't do any kind of justice to the real thing and, with that 'gliding' pose, just looks ugly to me.
Ya, I have found that when delicate animals are stuffed ( birds small rodents ) they look odd and out of place. Your pretty lucky to have seen such an amazing animal. Kangaroo and emus seem to be the only australian animal in American Zoos. I wish there was more like numbats, bilbeys, and quolls.
