If someone asked me what part of the zoo has changed the most in the last 6 years, I would say the small mammal house. The zoo has done a real good job of lowering the amount of repeat exhibits and has brought in a lot of new species. A lot of the highlights of the building probably weren't even at the zoo in 2010. They also added a cool radiography display*.

How many zoos even have small mammal houses anymore?
I feel like most visitors don't take time to appreciate what the zoo has done with the exhibit over the years. Six years ago almost every exhibit had GLTs in them, but now each exhibit is different (except for the three exhibits with Prevost's Squirrel, One of which is way to big for 1 squirrel). I see people all the time just walk past an exhibit because the animal isn't moving or they can't see them or they think they're gross.
By the way I have seen people think they jumping rats were really cute but as soon as they see they're a rat they say "eew a rat".
