Lontra longicaudis. This pair came from Acuario Veracruz which has a rehabilitation program for confiscated otters taken from the illegal pet trade.

In México Neotropical River Otters can be seen at San Juan Aragón zoo,Morelia zoo, Zoomat Chiapas, Acuario Michin and Acuario Veracruz. Most are rescued or confiscated animals.

Acuario Michin has annouced the first birth of a Neotropical otter in a
AN animal collection in México. The pup is doing quite well. Both parents were confiscated animals.
