This gate is part of the new high and deep fencing around what used to be the tur exhibit. It makes the area look like the edge of the zoo rather than a 'welcome to the takin(?) exhibit'. Time will tell.
I was surprised to see that the new fence has been extended down the hill to the left, until it butts up against the stone wall of the takin's paddock. I wonder if this means that a new enclosure will be constructed on the left hand side of the path.
