I'm starting to feel like there might be a day when it's considered odd to keep hippos in an exhibit that doesn't have underwater viewing in the same way that you would just expect to see seals and penguins underwater. I remember being surprised when I went to Twycross Zoo and saw that the sea lions could only be viewed from above the water.
