How is the breeding programm doing ? ( howmany pairs are, kept, howmany young are bred every year, howmany are released and how are these captive-bred doing in the wild ).
There are about 200 birds currently in the captive population, and fertility is about 1.4 per pair. The objective is to increase the captive population to about 350 birds for 2 reasons, to establish a genetically viable captive population, and to allow numerically larger releases in the future.
