On display in the little vivarium nearest the macaques. 4 specimens (at least) of this little lizard species with very long tails. Unlabelled, so I'm not going to guess what they are. Monsoon Forest, Islands, Chester, 26th July 2016.

It's indeed a Takydromus and I'm also quite sure its T. sexlineatus but there are quite a number of similar species in this genus. The Six-striped long-tail lizard is however the best-known member of this genus and avaible in large numbers in the pet-trade ( 99.9 % of them wild-caught ).
A very nice and intresting species which is relative easy to keep and also CAN be bred but because its so cheap, few people give it a try....
Thank you both, I have read a little about Takydromus species but never seen them before. I was surprised by how arboreal these little guys are - they were all sitting on leaves near the top of the vivarium.
Checked Zootierliste ( ZootierlisteHomepage ) and at zoos they realy seem to be quite rarely kept ( but Chester is mentioned as being a holder of it ) but in the pet-trade it realy must be the most commonly offered Lacertid lizard - and the cheapest which makes breeding them unintresting !
