There is also now viewing from outside the aviary at the far end, facing the vultures. In the same way as in the Latin America aviary, this means the birds are not fully off show if the aviary is closed (as currently), and if the aviary is busy you still have a chance to look in.
A great addition, but I do wonder why this wasn't always the case. On my one and only Chester visit a few years ago, the walkthroughs were closed for avian influenza, and I was very disappointed not to be able to see any of this, one of the most beloved UK exhibits.
