Kunekunes and the like seem very prone to obesity in 'zoo/farm' situations. All they do is eat and sleep and usually being kept in small pens means they have little chance to exercise properly into the bargain. Once the weight is on them, its hard to reduce it again.
These two were donated by a private owner and have lost quite a bit of weight since they arrived as they have been on reduced rations and have been spending several hours at a time out in a paddock - last Friday Prada got quite a run on when they were being brought back in after 3 p.m., but Radley, the fatter of the two, can still manage not much more than a waddle.

They were incredibly fat on arrival and Radley in particular was almost stepping on her skin, so their diet started immediately. When they got a little bit more mobile they were able to go into the paddock.
Some friends of mine had a pair of these Kunes. The sow was huge and fat because she was the dominant animal and the greediest. I've seen her walk round collecting up apples thrown to them and then storing them in her mouth like tennis balls, while the male would run around behind her, grabbing what he could. Needless to say he wasn't as fat....
