New Zealand Deer Species

That's a fascinating sign. I had no idea that New Zealand had so many deer species!

@snowleopard Yes, at least seven species; with no substantiated sightings of Moose in decades. It’s a bit like the Tasmania tiger, every now and then someone claims to see it - but conveniently never has chance to take decent footage.

@snowleopard There used to be even more! Chital and Mule Deer have now gone extinct, and even Huemul were introduced at one point (three individuals released in the early 1900s and never seen again)!
