Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus)

pond, land. No good.

August 2013
Was this unfortunate croc one of the main attractions of the aquarium? There is zero naturalism to the exhibit, and is there some kind of light shining down from above or is that glare from light fixtures nearby?

Funnily enough it was not a main feature. The enclosure was right by the entrance but sort of off to the side, almost like an after-thought. It was a kind of pointless addition to the overall Aquarium actually.

The light is a bit of both overhead light and reflections off the glass from other lights.

Maybe a giant plastic skull with red eyes could provide some shade and mood?

@PeGe Yeah, red and purple are quite complementary! ;)
In all seriousness, with some vegetation, soft substrate and lights any other color but purple, I see this working for a dwarf caiman, a large constrictor, an aquatic turtle, a water monitor or an iguana.
