@marmolady There's not really many but Pansy has little scars above her eyes (as seen in the photo above), and Brindabella's also far bigger. Pansy's ears are also skinnier than Brindabella's.
@marmolady@Jambo I would also add Brindabella being 33 years old, would have a more aged appearance than her prime aged daughter. This was very evident on Primrose (also 33 years) versus her daughters.
Next stage / phase a male Nile hippo (and ideally another female ...) for breeding.
It is the IRA ... s****d! Get importing a.s.a.p. as not rocket science and available in the Australasian region and Eastern Asia in good numbers (Indonesia, Thailand).
@Kifaru Bwana It appears the plan is to acquire 1.0 as I understand the zoo is aiming for a bloat of around six hippopotami, which would be achieved by breeding from these cows (which can hopefully remain in a cohesive pod). Personally, I’d like to see the exhibit sub-divided and an additional 0.1 brought in, so we can have a more genetically diverse regional population.
