There are certainly some very large enclosures at this French zoo but some of the paddocks appear to have a main surface of sand. Is that accurate? Are the bare sections in some of the exhibits due to a lack of vegetation or is it actually a sandy base?
This zoo is located near the Atlantic coast and the soil there is sand. That's why there are pine trees everywhere, because they grow well on sand, and most of the other trees don't.
