This will be useful for when I get around to a photographic guide featuring shrikes not quite so useful for the current guide which will feature shrews, thanks to my personal rules relating to the use of deceased animals for photographic guides
To be honest, I might well relax that one to some degree for this thread given a lot of the photographs in question will be of freshly-deceased animals rather than mounted specimens, which is the main thing I prefer to avoid using.
@TeaLovingDave I think the shrew was still alive at this point, I watched the bird capture it from the ground and hold it like this for a while before it finally dug in by wedging it onto a branch.
