April 2014. This exhibit contains ruff, smew, bufflehead, harlequin duck, and long-tailed duck. This Arctic-themed exhibit complex opened in 1996 and was renovated (mostly its interpretive elements) in 2010.

This is one of my favorite exhibits at the San Diego Zoo. I think that the Cincinnati Zoo has a similar exhibit, but indoors?

Arctic ducks are beautiful and charismatic, but seem to be very infrequently exhibited.
 
DavidBrown, I love this exhibit too, and sometimes there is a lot of activity in it! Do you remember it having species other than waterfowl? I have a vague memory of something else flying around in there.

I think that they had another eider species, but that is all I remember in addition to the species line-up that you mentioned.
